.: Angle of Attack

The Angle of Attack [AOA] is an important concept. A kites performance is more closely related to its angle of attack than anything else. The basic idea is simple, the angle of attack is the angle at which the air/wind hits the kite. This angle can be altered by adjusting the bridle of the kite.

The angle of attack also determines the Lift to Drag Ratio [l/d]. This is a ratio of the vertical lift produced by an object in relation to is horizontal drag. It's value can be used to express how efficient an aerodynamic object is. A kite which is powerful not not always efficient.
