Camber Sands Jurys Gap end (east) is designated for kiters, buggies, boarders and kite surfers. Traction activity banned from the central part of the beach. Watch out for - the wooden barriers further down the beach, walkers, kite eating dogs, pools left by the retreating tide. Dont scare the horses. A great spot at low tide stiff breezes are common. 1 Bretton Park A perfect site for flying when you dont want to travel too far. The grass is completely football pitch quality, and there is plenty of room even if there is a football match or cricket match on. The wind can be a little choppy at times due to the trees but 9 times out of 10 this isnt a great problem. There are currently no restrictions so both landboards and buggys can be used, in fact we have even had a lovely young blonde police officer have a go before now 1 East Hoyle Bank Have to be a member of Wirral Sand Yacht Club to buggy. It is situated on the Mediterranean Sea at about 80 km from the Spanish frontier in the region known as the Languedoc-Roussillon. Long slog down hill to the beach but worth it for a few hours of kiting. Only really any good in SW for buggying. 1 Yelverton/Dartmoor On National Park ground so only really any good for static flying (some boards there sometimes but not sure if allowed). Beware of dog mud and goarse patches. Gusty but quite open. 1 Hackney Marshes Lumpy winds, but useable. Beware footballers in season, especially on sundays. 1 Broughton Beach a.k.a. Airport Beach silty sand beach between the river and the airport. planes fly very low but no problems have been encountered with kites. best for E or SE wind. 1 Delta Park 8 contigious soccer fields. muddy but empty in the winter but usually busy with soccer or other sports in the summer. 1 Sauvie Island local kitesurf spot 15 miles from portland. Soft silty sand beach good for static flying. Best for N wind. check wind report for Scappoose for current conditions. 1 Cannon Beach Cannon Beach has nice hard packed sand in the winter as well as during low tide year round. In the winter the beach is nearly empty and a great place to fly but Cannon Beach is a very popular tourist location in the summer and is quite crowded. When it is crowed it is best to drive a bit farther up or down the coast to a less popular location- check out Manzinita to the south or Sunset beach to the north for near by alternatives. In the summer though the green keeper takes the posts down and its all one big cricket feild so theres alot of room around the outside 1 Dollymount Strand There are restrictions on Dollymount which apply to kiters on wheels; Please honour these, or risk losing this excellent urban beach. You must have insurance and a helmet, you must be a member of IPKA and display your plates. Buggying is permitted 2.5 hours either side of low tide. At low tide a huge beach and shallow water. Good hard packed sand at low tide. 1 Port Erin Beach Dont bother unless directly onshore. Sand is excellent though. Too busy in summer, very popular beach. 1 Peel Beach Not very smooth sand with pebbles inset. Fine for buggys but risky with a landboard. 1 Peel Park Up on the headland the site is quite sloped but makes interesting riding on a landboard. 1 Ramsey (North) This is where the kite surfers launch from. The sand isn;t so good for boarders and buggiers. The rugby pitch and grounds behind are great when the tides in. 1 Ramsey (South) The pier scares people. If you fly south of the pier youve plenty of room to avoid it. If you fly north of it before the harbour youve still plenty of room though. Good hard sand for buggys and boards. 1 Ballaugh Beach Sand is reported as excellent. Favourite with kite surfers and windsurfers. 1 Nizhnevartovsk quite cold 1 Castle Hill Elevated, fantastic views, E and W best. 1 Nova Centre 1 White Lake (dry), Cold Springs, NV 1 Washoe Lake Muddy lake with smooth thermal winds blowing 15-30 mph most summer days, chest deep so perfect for newbie kiteboarders 1 Ardroil Sands / Uig Sands Sand can be inconsistent. Occassional driftwood and seaweed after storms. 1 Anastasia State Park Great buggy spot just stay clear of the beachgoes at the ramp area. 1 Mersea No buggies or MTBs allowed (so Im told, there are no signs up) but loads of room to static fly. Its a nice place to chill out and have a walk after flying, great sea food the other side of the island at the shed, near the yacht clubs. 1 Maldon Promenade. Very bad at weekends, far too many tourists dog walkers and football players. Mid week or evening its nice. You will need insurance and be prepared to be asked for your card. This is a very busy site and where I fly most so please be considerate to other park users if you visit. There are 2 fields where flying is possible, on the football pitches (when empty) or at the back of the park by the little boating lake. 1 Richmond park 2 not as good as the other site but we cant play there till september grounds a bit bumpy and grass is just a bit too long though all in all not a bad site 1 Aberdeen Beach Ideal in all but westerly winds, only used by kiters 1 Balmedie Need to take buggies through dunes to get to beach but well worth it. Ideal winds are any easterlies, sand can be soft above tide line so big foots are best 1 Dunster Beach Can be very busy in the season but last year no flying restrictions. Public tend to use the beach right in front of the car park so a little walk left or right will give you lots of beach. The location marker shows a field on the south side of the in-door court. This site works very well for Georgias South to N. West winds. Most other fields have problems with gusts and shifting winds, however, this field has very little obstacles up or downwind. When it blows, it blows steady. This is a lovely little place with unspoilt scenery and peace and quiet. Its totally flat and very well maintained. Grass is always cut short. Its best in a westerly wind direction. If you want to go for fast, long runs in your buggy or on your landboard, then its not really for you. Ive buggied there and 1 other kiteboarder uses it. Flanked on all sides by trees and some houses. The rec is divided in two, by a few large srubs, but you can cross it quite easily. 1 Garretstown Good spot for Kitesurfing, can get busy so beach not ideal for landboards/buggies 1 Harrowby Field Its not an ideal site, but in my opinion, the only safe site in Grantham 1 Bolton-le-Sands Flat hard sand. Due to size and open aspect, will take wind in any direction. Needs high tides to be less than 8.5m though and at least one dry day previous to dry out properly. Nice wind off the sea, wind shadow from cliff never seems to bad. 1 the valley in in winter its perfect for snowkiting 1 Barbury Cas tle Better for W/E winds, field narrows otherwise 1 Jade Park Winds can be gusty and erratic, but its out of the way. 1 Delaney Park Strip It is a long, narrow strip of land through downtown Anchorage. Has a veterans memorial, so there is a large flag for gauging wind. Few obstructions if the wind is right and a decent amount of open space. Popular with locals, though, so there could be others flying or playing frisbee or something. 1 Westbury White Horse Very High 1 Field This small field has nothing on it (except a few horses that arent the slightest bit bothered by kites). It has a bank on one end and the wind is disturbed if coming the other way by houses. HOWEVER its a decent little place if youre local. The local chavs and mini chavs are usually quite friendly/interested. If youre flying here give me a yell.
