Been buggying since 98. Never really taken it seriously though. Just like to spend an afternoon under my parasol, sitting in my camping chair with drinks cooler beside me, watching other boarders and buggiers go by.
 
Yeah, I suppose you could call me a fair weather flyer.
 
I own an 8 year old Peter Lynn Race buggy which I've had from new.
It has an extra wide axle and adjustable suspension.
To be honest, it's seen better days.
 
I use a rubber door mat for a seat, as my big ass has worn the original away.
You may laugh, but it's pretty comfortable.
 
I fly only race kites, of various sizes and makes, as I love nothing more than getting some extreme down-wind runs.
 
I would consider myself as "not bad", I no longer do the walk of shame for instance.
 
I can't do any tricks and I don't know any of the jargon surrounding this sport.
 
I just do what I do and love it.

hiya...

The above is all spot on.  I actually don't notice any change in flight if there's only a couple of wraps or crossovers, but I untangle them when I get more than that. 

It's no problem taking the bridles apart -- I often do it at the beach if the wind is unflyable and I don't want to go home just yet -- good time to fiddle with the kites...   But perhaps best to do it in a clean indoor area first, just take your time and maybe have paper and pen handy so you can scribble a diagram to keep things straight. 

Good to hear you are still playing with your beast, let us know how you get on.

Does indeed sound like you may have had a couple of bowties or brake-line wraps -- been flying in light gusty winds, by any chance?

Hmm I see this a lot, usually with my PKD as there are more bridle knots in that than anything else. What I do lay the kite flat on the floor, bridles facing up, indoors so the thing isn't flapping about, get hold of the bridle tips and just take interest at how the lines are wrapped around themselves. You will have to hold the bridles away from the kite to judge this. Then by passing the bridle ends back around themselves, moving them inside out if you will, the crossovers should start to come out. What I see is this happening if the kite is put back in the bag without securing the bridle ends/knots off before packing. Not a hard or long process.

One of the other things they said, to piss on my fire, was it also not in my favour my shoes were Brown not black, and my handwriting was a bit shaky. They told us to fill out all forms in block capitals, then didn't tell us when it came to the 3000 word essay NOT to change had-writing, ergo uber cramp!!!
