Spirit of sky Kite stake
This is a review of a kite stake I bought from a local vendor whilst I was waiting for my 1st kite to arrive.
The stake it’self looks to be made from stainless steel and has a golf ball fitted to it to prevent your handles getting free. Now you may think “A golf ball, thats a bit cheap” But in use I have found it to be very easy to drive it into even hard packed earth due to the solid grip you get. It’s a lot like your car gearstick, made to fit in your palm.
Also being white it is fairly easy to spot if you happen to be a bit hasty in your launch and just lob it on the floor. However this is the technical bit… It comes with a lovely belt mountable scabbard! No more lost stakes!
The quality of the scabbard manufacture is very good all very tidily stitched made from stiff resilient cordura nylon, similar to most kite straps only a bit thicker. It also sports the manufacturers logo with telephone number.
The stake it’self is very pointed making it easy to stab in the ground, nuff said.
All in all I feel this is a well made “get the job done” peice of kiting gear and would recommend it to anyone in need of a kite stake, my only reservation is when wearing it on a belt and looning about as we do if you come a real cropper whilst jumping there is a very slight possibility you may sustain injury but as of yet I have had no problems in this area… Touch wood…(Golf ball between you and ground)
